Forecastfox is a powerful weather monitoring browser extension which keeps you in touch with current conditions, without getting in your way.
Install Forecastfox on Firefox, for instance, and initially you may not even notice anything has changed. Glance down at the right-hand side of the status bar, though, and you’ll see icons reporting on current and upcoming weather conditions. Hover the mouse cursor over any of these for a larger view, with details like temperature, wind speed, humidity and pressure. And if you hover the mouse over the radar icon on the left then you’ll even get to see an animated weather map for an in-depth look at what’s due to happen.
Initially all this information is provided only for the default location, New York – but that’s easily changed. Just right-click one of the weather icons, select Options, and enter a city, zip or post code.you’de to monitor instead. (Or as well – the addon can remember multiple applications and switch between them from your browser toolbar.)
And that’s just the start of its configuration options. You can also choose your preferred icons and measurement units. You get to decide exactly which items of weather data you’d like covered: humidity, precipitation, UV radiation, visibility, moon phases? And there are plenty of other useful settings on offer. Just choose the ones you need and they’re applied immediately, so you can simply close the settings page to check out the changes.
