PureSync is a software application designed for file and folder synchronization and backup. It addresses users of any skill level, whether they are beginners or advanced.
The interface of the program is represented by a businesslike layout where you can start a new synchronization job by running a simple wizard.
So, you can use the Explorer-based layout to select two folders (they can even be from remote computers), include subfolders, exclude a particular item from the job and choose predefined locations from the computer (e.g. My Documents, templates, desktop, Microsoft Office). But you may also drag and drop files in the list.
In the following step, you may set up a filter to create an inclusion or exclusion list for file synchronization, along with a filter for file deletion.
Furthermore, you can enable PureSync to automatically synchronize files and folders when a device is connected or a folder is found, when a file has been modified, scheduled, when the computer has been idle for several seconds, at startup, logon, logoff or shutdown, or when a user-defined application is quit.
It is also possible to set up a post-synchronization action, such as running a program, powering off the computer, closing the status windows or opening an Explorer window with the copied files. Creating a backup job is similar to the synchronization task.
There are two types available – normal and mirror mode; the latter method implies that the files and folders which are not existent in the source folder will be deleted in the destination. You can specify how many backups you want to keep, as well as compress or encrypt them.
Additional features of PureSync let you copy photographs from a digital camera to the computer, as well as transfer files between your PC and another one. Actions can be undone, and users may toggle the layout between compact and advanced mode, according to their skill level.
PureSync supports shell integration and multiple languages for the UI. It has a good response time, swiftly finishes a backup or synchronization job and uses a moderate quantity of CPU and system memory. We have not experienced any difficulties in our tests, since the program did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Thanks to its intuitive layout and wide range of customization settings, PureSync should please the entire audience.
The PureSync Personal application was designed to be a file synchronizer and backup tool. PureSync Personal lets you compare, synchronize and backup file, easy to use, but still many features, such as conflict detection and resolving, multiple backups.
PureSync Personal comes with a preview of what is synchronized and includes many filters and FTP support as well as the support of network drives such as \\server\folder. PureSync Personal can copy open/locked files. A setup Wizard helps to easily start new synchronizations or backups.
Backups can be encrypted and/or zipped (compressed). PureSync Personal supports server paths and includes the detection of conflicts.
